A seed drill is an industrial-type machine used chiefly in agriculture which sows seedlings for planting in the field and buried them at a certain depth to make sure that seeds are evenly distributed. However, it has a limit on the number of holes that can be drilled in a particular type of soil. It can only handle small holes.
Seed drills that use hydraulic pressure are often more expensive than those which use mechanical pressure. A number of disadvantages of using this type of drill are that they tend to slip when the ground is wet, and the casing of the hole can get blocked. It can also damage the lawn if it gets stuck in a crack or crevice. This is a common problem with this method. Sometimes this method is used to drill small holes where other methods have failed.
